Swirl with Flowers

Older stamps often get neglected so I thought I would use one of my faves from Hero Arts for this thank you card.
P1130953
My plan was to make a card in under 10 minutes for CAS-ual Fridays Dashing Thru the Holidays Challenge and boy did I cut it close. 9 min. 42 seconds. Phew!  The part that took the longest was getting the ribbon on and tying a bow.  Mental note, don't use ribbon when trying to make a card in a hurry.

I quickly inked my image in Distress Inks sprayed with water and stamped onto the paper.  It's a great technique if you're in a hurry.  Instead of looking for card stock to match the Distress Inks, I swiped Peacock Feathers onto white card stock and stamped the Letter Writing on top, a perfect colour match.

I'm also entering this card at Ellen Hutson LLC Hero Arts Wood Take 'n Make  challenge and for Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge

Wishing everyone a fabulous New Year's Eve!

2012 Favourites - Part 1

It's that time again when I showcase some of the cards I've come across this past year that really amazed me, made me happy, made me catch my breath.

There were soooo many beauties on my list, there is just so much talent out there. I managed to dwindle down my list to eleven projects today and eleven more in a couple of days.

Theresa used Alcohol and Distress Inks on this colourful card.
Lily Pad Chipboard Challenge - Card #1

How about another beauty using Alcohol Inks.  This time by the lovely Jacqueline.
Large Blossom

Can you believe Shirley used petals and leaves from plants to make this striking card.
How Does Your Garden Grow?

Love the clever use of dies on Angeline's card.

Laura made this gorgeous blossom in April.
The DIY Embellishments Challenge

And this one in August.
enjoy the journey

The mingling of colours is gorgeous in Aga's card.
thank you set

Jennifer is always so creative with her designs.  Love this fun card!

Alcohol inks on acetate are magical on this card by Sylvia.

Barb used Distress Inks to create this soft and dreamy background for her snowflakes.
Warmth of the Season

This is such a fun and clever design by Cristina.

That's it for today.  I hope you're inspired by some of these amazing creations.

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone!  A very quick and simple card for CAS-ual Fridays Dashing Thru the Holidays Challenge. You have 10 minutes to create a card for this challenge, so super easy and speedy is the key.
P1130869
It took me 8 min. 23 seconds to make this card, very quick for me as I'm pretty slow at making my cards.  I embossed the tree and greeting, added two strips of glittery paper and rounded the corners. Done!

I'm also entering this for the Simon Says Merry Christmas Challenge which is to make anything related to Christmas and 10 Minute Craft Dash #9 which is to make a holiday themed card in under 10 minutes.

I'm sending Merry Christmas Wishes to all the people who take time out of their busy lives to stop and visit my blog and and leave comments.  It is truly appreciated!

Wishing you all a most Happy Holiday Season!

Even the Score

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge this week is to use score lines on your project.
Sue-McRae-P1130853
I created a scored diamond background for my die cut sentiment and popped some fun dotty paper behind the "thanks".  This time of year it's always good to have a few extra "thank you" cards around.

There's still time to join the Even the Score Challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.

Thanks for stopping by!

Knotty Tree

Hi everyone.  Just popping in with a quick post for CAS-ual Fridays Knotty or Nice Challenge (fun name isn't it) which involves using a knot or knots on your project.
Sue-McRae-P1130724
For my card I tied a bunch of French Knots with red embroidery thread.  I used to embroider quite a bit when I was younger so it was fun to incorporate that into my card.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by today!

Snowflakes

It's all about snowflakes for this weeks Simon Says Stamp Challenge.
Sue-McRae-P1130679
I inked up the snowflake image in four shades of blue and stamped the colours diagonally in the little "windows" that were created from Papertrey Ink's Quatrefoil Die.  A simple embossed sentiment, a few gemstones and that's all folks!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Bling That Tree

A quickie post to share a tag I made that has lots of bling and sparkle.
P1130603
When I saw the tree image in the Bella Blvd stamp set (see below), I knew that it would be perfect for adding a few (or a few too many) gems and pearls.  Between that and the glittered snow, I think this tag is pretty festive.

I'm entering this tag over at CAS-ual Fridays Gift Tag ChallengeSimon Says Anything Goes Challenge and the Sparkle Challenge at CASology.

Thanks for stopping by!
