12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2016 Challenge

I'm back with probably my last tag for Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist. There's just not enough time to make all the tags that I would like!

For this tag I was inspired by the sketch on day 7 and Melania's use of gold.

I created stripes with two different shades of green using water colour paint. Using one of my fave wreath stamps from Wplus9 I added gold berries with Delicata ink and accents with gold glitter glue.

For the sentiment I used my Dymo label maker and I wanted just a pop of red so I added a cardinal to the wreath.

Hope you have a crafty weekend!

12 Tags of Christmas With A Feminine Twist 2016

I managed to make another tag for Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist and this tag was inspired by day 4 and Jennifer's tag with the stitched background and using felt.

I used stitching dies from MFT on my tag and I die cut the Poppystamps stitched poinsettia layers from hot pink felt.

I added a mess of silver thread behind the flower and white heat embossed the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today!

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2016 Challenge

I have another tag for Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist. This time I was inspired by Joni's tag on day 3 and her use of a scalloped oval frame on her tag and by the shape of Carissa's banner tail tag as well as the foil theme.

I used a bookmark die for my tag shape and stamped snowflakes and my sentiment on it. I die cut the WPlus9 tree from foam adhesive and covered it with rainbow foil. Love how bright and happy the tree is. I mounted the tree onto my scalloped frame and finished off with the sequined thread.

Hope you're having a crafty day!

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2016 Challenge

I have a tag today for Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist Challenge.  I was inspired by Julia's tag on day 2 with her deer and her use of chunky glitter and the colour pink.

I used pink card stock for my tag and loosely covered a snow bank with white chunky glitter. I die cut two trees from felt and the little deer was die cut from wood paper.

25 Days of Christmas Tags

Welcome to Day 2 of Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. Tracey has been doing this event for 6 years. Wow, great job Tracey! Every day there is a new sponsor with inspirational projects and some prizes. Tracey has all the general info about the event here.

Today it's Poppystamps turn to sponsor and there are some fabulous tags created by the design team.

For my tag I started off by die cutting a Main Street Tag from water colour paper and heat embossing the poinsettia and leaves from the Poinsettia Peace stamp set in brass embossing powder. Then I did some loose water colouring with my Gansai Tambi Paints.

I die cut the Merry Christmas Tag from black card stock and adhered that on top of the stamped tag. I added a few black stamped dots and some sequins and to finish off I added ribbon and a couple of bells.

To see what the rest of the Poppystamps design team created stop by Tracey's blog here.

Thanks for visiting today and happy crafting!

Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop

Welcome everyone to the Hero Arts Hostess Alumni Blog Hop! I'm so excited you're joining us for this two day event. You should be arriving for Emily's blog.

The Hosti's have gotten together to feature projects using products from the new 2016 release and winter catalog.

My first card uses the Happy Holly Days Stamp and Die Set. I love all the greenery in this set, perfect for so many different styles of cards.

I heat embossed all my stamped images with Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder. It's my first time trying it and is now a favourite. I'll be using it on a lot of my holiday cards this year. After embossing and die cutting I coloured in my pieces with Zig Markers.

For the red piece I stamped the Holiday Florals Bold Prints Stamp with red ink on red card stock and used a Sakura glitter pen to add red dots on the background. Then it was just a matter of assembling the card and adding a sentiment.

On my second card I used the Color Layering Cardinal as my focal image. Half the fun is experimenting with different colour combos for the bird. The colours on my bird are Ranger Pink Gumball, Ranger Classic Cherry and Memento Love Letter.

I die cut a circle from white card stock and white heat embossed the Woodgrain Bold Prints image on it. I also heat embossed branches from the Happy Holly Days set with green glitter embossing powder and used them to frame the bird.

For the strip of green I used Versamark to ink the edge of the cardstock, sprinkled it with the same green glitter embossing powder and heat set. I finished off the card by adding my sentiment.

Are you ready for some prizes? Hero Arts will be awarding 4 prizes ($25 shopping spree to Hero Arts online shop) from randomly drawn comments. Birch Press & Poppystamps Blog Hop

Welcome to the Poppystamps & Birch Press Design Blog Hop. You should be arriving from Patty's blog. If not you can start the hop from the beginning here.

For those not familiar with Birch Press Design, it's an online company founded by Memory Box and Poppystamps creator Dave Brethauer. Birch Press sells household and craft items including dies, stamps, paper and more. Birch Press also has a blog now with a design team and they are joining us on this hop. That blog can be found here.

On my card I'm using the Delfina Layers Dies. They come in a set of three dies which you can layer in different ways but you can also buy each layer die separately if you want.

I made a quick background using coral and white papers with two of the layer dies. I die cut Poppystamps Monterey Vine out of water colour paper, sprinkled on some Color Bursts and added a few spritzes of water. Love the soft speckled effect. I also die cut the vine from vellum and placed it behind the coloured piece.

I die cut a couple of birds from some of the left over Color Burst paper and tucked them into the windows and added a white embossed sentiment.

Make sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win one of two $25 gift certificates for Birch Press Design. The more you comment, the more chances to win. You have until October 9th to leave a comment and the winners will be announced on the Poppystamps blog on October 11th.

Also there is a special going on right now, purchase a clear stamp set and get the coordinating dies for 20% off.

Your next stop is Tracy!

Here's a list of all the hop participants in case there's a broken link.

It's All Black & White!

It's a new month so that means there's a new challenge up at Poppystamps. This month is all about Black & White.

For the challenge I made a Christmas card. I took the Pine Boughs and die cut them from computer paper and used this as a stencil. With white pigment ink and a sponge dauber I added boughs randomly around the edge of the black panel.  I then die cut a bunch of the Pine Boughs from white glitter card stock and adhered them to the panel.

The Merry Christmas sentiment was die cut from white card stock and then I applied white enamel accents on top for some added dimension. To add a bit more texture to the card I used a dotty embossing folder on the card base. I finished off with a sprinkling of sequins.

Remember, no other colours allowed on your projects so get creative and I can't wait to see what you make!
