Simon Says Stamp Mood Board

I'm stopping by today with a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog and this week there's a fall mood board.

I couldn't resist making a leafy card for the challenge.

The Poppystamps Maple Leaf is covered with gilding flakes.

The panel the leaf is adhered to is embossed with a Taylored Expressions Weathered Embossing Folder. I then tapped Versamark along the edges, sprinkled on gold embossing powder and heat set.

The sentiment is from the Neat and Tangled Oak Leaf stamp set and is black heat embossed on vellum and wrapped around the panel.

I finished off by rounding two of the corners on the card base.

Thanks for visiting with me today!

World Card Making Day

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I posted but life sometimes gets a little crazy, right?

I have a card today I made for World Card Making Day.

I finally got a chance to play with the beautiful Emma Stamp from Simon Says Stamp. This is such a pretty and elegant design! I embossed the image in Brass Embossing Powder from Hero Arts onto water colour paper. I spritzed the paper with water and then added Ken Oliver Color Burst in Merlot and let it do its magic. I love all the separation of the different pigments in this colour!

The colours are a little darker than I would like for a wedding card but I didn't want to mess around with after it was dry so I left it as is.

I added a die cut sentiment and one black gem to finish the card.

I'm submitting this card for the Simon Says Stamp World Card Making Day Challenge found here.

Rainbow Wishes

Hello crafty friends! I'm popping by today to let you know that Poppystamps has a new challenge starting today called Rainbow Wishes. Everyone loves a rainbow, right?

When I think of rainbows I definitely think of Distress Inks so I pulled out some colours to create a bright inky background. Then I die cut the Stitched Bloom Trio flowers from the background and also die cut them twice from black card stock for each flower so I could adhere the three layers of flower together, two black layers and the inked layer. I then fitted the flowers back into the background like puzzle pieces.

I white heat embossed the sentiment onto a Stitched Tunnel Tag that was cut from white card stock and inked with Distress Candied Apple so it would match the red in the background.

I added a few vellum leaves behind the tags and added a bow to finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. The Poppystamps Rainbow Wishes Challenge lasts until the end of June and a random winner will receive a gift certificate from Poppystamps. Stop by the blog here for all the challenge details and to see the other rainbow projects created by the design team.

Have a great day!

Butterfly Trail

Hi everyone! Today I'm featuring this card over at Poppystamps. We're having a blog blitz over there with some newly released dies and we're having giveaways!

P1350046c

I'm showcasing the Florisima Trail die. When I saw this die the first thing I thought of was using it to create a butterfly trail and that's exactly what I did.

Out of white linen card stock I die cut the Florisima Trail so that it would start at the butterfly and end off of the paper. I then flicked gold paint across this panel.

P1350106c

I took a piece of white card stock and created an inky rainbow using Distress Inks and gave it a quick spray with Perfect Pearls. I adhered this rainbow piece behind the opening in the white panel and inlaid the flowery trail right on top.

I die cut the largest butterfly from the Stitched Butterfly Trio from white card stock and inked it up with Distress Inks in blue and purple and sprayed it with Perfect Pearls. Then I die cut the butterfly three times from black card stock and adhered all the butterfly layers together by adding adhesive to only the centre of the butterfly so the wings could be fluffed.

P1350080c

The butterfly and Scribble Thank You were adhered to the panel and that was attached to a black card base. I finished off the card with some gems.

If you would like a chance to win the Florisima Trail die, just leave a comment on the Poppystamps post here.

Make sure to visit Poppystamps every day during the blog blitz and comment on each post for your chance to win the featured die.

Go For Gold

Hello everyone! There's a new challenge up at Poppystamps and the theme for this month is Go For Gold!

For my card I decided to use gold embossing powder for the gold theme. I started by die cutting the sentiment from white card stock, smooshing Versamark over it, sprinkling it with gold embossing powder and heat setting it. By doing this I know that all the gold on my card matches perfectly.

For the background, I took a piece of white card stock and used the Memory Box Raymelle stencil with Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon.

I used Distress Ink in Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac and Picked Raspberry to colour some white card stock. I die cut the butterflies from this, stamped the delicate body images in Versamark and gold embossed.

I took the Versamark ink pad and dabbed it around the edge of the stenciled piece, sprinkled with gold embossing powder and heat set. This adds a visual definition between the panel and the black card base without needing another layer of paper.

To finish off the card I added some black gems.

The Go For Gold challenge lasts all month so you have lots of time to submit your projects and at the end one person will be randomly chosen to win some Poppystamps products.

I can't wait to see your creative projects!
