Mad About Monkeys

One last Poppystamps card featuring animals. This one is all about the monkeys.

Jungle Vine Monkeys A

I die cut the Jungle Vine Oval from cherry wood paper and attached it to a water coloured background.

The monkeys were die cut in different earth tones as I figured this would be a good card for a baby boy.

I'm entering this in Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge Let's Go Wild here.

Critter Birthday

I'm back with another Poppystamps card using the same critters as on yesterday's card but this time they are embossed.

Happy Birthday Animals AI die cut the animals from white card stock, applied Versamark over the die cut, sprinkled with embossing powder and heat set.

Happy Birthday Animals B

The monkey and giraffe on the right were done with premixed embossing powders in Desert Wind and Desert Blossom from Stamp A Mania (they are temporarily closed). For the giraffe on the left I mixed the Desert Wind with Ranger Buttercup Embossing Powder for a custom look.

The Jumbled Happy Birthday was die cut with blue fun foam for some loft and extra colour.

I'm entering this card for Simon Says Stamp Let's Go Wild Wednesday Challenge here.

Thanks for dropping by today!

For the Little One

I have a card to welcome a new baby into the world.

I used Poppystamps Gentle Wave Collage on my panel and thought it would be fun to have some animals hanging out of and around the waves.

All the critters were cut from felt to add a bit of fuzzy texture.

Mix It Up

I have a card today for Ellen Hutson's Mix It Up Challenge which is to use any Essentials by Ellen product with a Technique Tuesday product.

I recently got Julie's
Wild Garden die set and this is my first time playing with it. I did some water coloring on the flower and leaves and added a few vellum die cuts to the design.

The thank you sentiment is from Technique Tuesday and is one of my favorites because of the wonderful hand writing (it's way better than mine)!

Thanks for stopping by today!

It's Tic Tac Toe Time

There's a brand new challenge up at Poppystamps and for the first time we're having a Tic Tac Toe Challenge. Pick three items in a row (across, down or diagonal) to use on your project.

Flower

Ribbon

Sparkle

Embossing – Dry or Heat

Yellow

Polka Dots

Stripes

Stencil

Twine

I chose the top row of flower, ribbon and sparkle for my card.

First I created a frame with the Memory Box Stitched Oval Layers set and inked it up with Distress Inks. I die cut Poppystamps Crocus Trio and added glitter to the flowers and I couldn't resist adding some gold splatters to the oval background.

For the white panel I took the tracing wheel from my sewing kit and ran in randomly over the card stock which I had sitting on a foam pad. It gave some nice texture and interest to the panel. Unfortunately the lines are difficult to see on the finished card so here's a look at a sample panel.

I finished off the card by adding the sentiment and some ribbon to the white panel.

Now, I hope you'll give the Tic Tac Toe Challenge a try. For all the details and to see what the rest of the team came up with please click here.
