Runway Inspired

I managed to find some time to play along with the current Runway Inspired Challenge. It's been ages since I've joined in and I had a blast with the inspiration photo.

I was inspired by the geometric pattern and that you could see through the dress.

For the background I applied Squeezed Lemonade and Abandonned Coral Distress Inks through the Heidi Swapp Fence Stencil. I cleaned off the stencil, placed it back on the design and applied Translucent Embossing Paste on top. This paste dries clear so the colours beneath are still visible.

I die cut Paper Smooches Roses Die and Leaves from black card stock and backed them with vellum so the background design would still be visible.

I finished off with a sentiment from the Altenew Label Love set and a few enamel dots.

You can see the shine and texture from the embossing paste in this photo.

I'm also entering this card in Simon Says Stamps Anything Goes Challenge.

House Warming Party

Catherine Pooler is having a House Warming Party to celebrate her new website and there's a project challenge with the theme of HOME.

Catherine Pooler House Warming Party

My card uses a lot of watercolouring. The buildings, the heart balloon (both with dies from Paper Smooches) and the sky were all done with watercolour paints.  A great card for a dear friend who lives so very far away.

There's still time to play along with the challenge and there's prizes to win by some fabulous sponsors.  Go check it out here.

Thanks for visiting!

The Cutting Edge

It's my first time playing in The Cutting Edge Challenge, but I do have to mention that it is only the 2nd challenge over there. It's a newbie challenge blog so go check it out here and see what it's all about!

Here is the inspiration photo.

Don't you just love the drippy colours!

Here's my take on it.

I watercoloured my background in colours similar to the inspiration project and used Paper Smooches Super 2 Die.  I framed the scene with thin strips of black paper, added my sentiment and a few gems.

I'm also entering this for Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge and Virginia's View Challenge #5, use dies on your project.

Thanks for popping by today!
