Thinking of You

I needed a card for a friend, to let her know I was thinking of her.  I though the Friendship Definition stamp would be a perfect backdrop for a butterfly (you can't go wrong with a butterfly for a feminine card).
I made a colour block background using three shades of Distress Ink and made it all shimmery with some Perfect Pearls. I figured why stop with the shimmer just on the background so I mixed up a batch of Perfect Gold and sprayed that over the butterfly layers, so pretty!

I'm entering this card over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog here for the Put A Stamp On It Challenge and also at the Simon Says Stamp & Show blog here for the Read All About It Challenge.
It's Stamptember so don't forget to check all the great things happening at the Simon Says Stamp blog here.

Embossing

I'm back with another card today and this one is focused on embossing, one of my fave techniques.

Embossing is a simple way to add texture and visual interest to a card like with the Woodgrain stamp I used on the background and for focal images like the swirly flowers.

There are a couple of challenges right now focused on embossing. One is at the CAS-ual Fridays blog.
The other is at A Blog Named Hero.
I think this also qualifies for Moxie Fabs Repetition Challenge and Simon Says Stamps Put A Stamp On It Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Washi

Well I finally decided to join the washi craze.  What can I say, I'm slow at joining some fads but decided to try it out for the Simon Says Put A Stamp On It challenge.  The design team is using washi tape on their projects this week so I thought I would play along.
This is my first Christmas card this year, seems a little early considering we're still sweltering over here.  I covered some cardstock with washi tape, die cut it into the tree shape and added some sparkly goodness with Stickles to all the dots and I used a red sparkly embossing powder for my sentiment.

Simon Says is celebrating all month with challenges and prizes, be sure to stop by and check out all the fun here.

I'm also entering this over at A Blog Named Hero where the current challenge is to use embossing powder on your project.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Uniko Studio

Todays card has no stamping on it and is made entirely from a digital kit.  It's a free digi kit called Bright Butterflies available here from Uniko Studio.
While surfing the internet and recuperating from my carpal tunnel surgery I discovered this newish company and the wonderful Uniko Studio Blog that has lots of great inspiration.  Not only do they have digi kits, stamps and papers but they also carry photopolymer stamp sets.

I used some of the pretty floral paper in the kit to die cut some hearts and I made them sparkly with some Glitter Ritz.  It's really too bad the pretty glitterness doesn't come through in the pic.

Uniko Studio is celebrating with some blog candy here, so drop by the blog to see what's up for grabs!

I'm also entering this over at the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge and the Moxie Fab Focal Point Challenge.

Have a great day!
