Simon Says You Gotta Have Friends

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog
You can never have too many friend cards in your stash so it's a good time to get crafty and enter the Friend Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp.

Friend Challenge at Simon Says Stamp

I inked up a tag with Distress Ink and spritzed it with Perfect Pearls for a little shimmer and splatter and continued with the splattering with some gold Heidi Swapp spray. It's a gray and rainy day here today so I think that's why I needed a little sparkle in my day!

I managed to use two patterned papers on this card along with some Simon Says dies. The Fresh Daisies is an oldie die but it is one of my most favourites.

Wishing you a sunny day and thanks for stopping by!

Runway Inspired #62

It's been a long time since I've made a card for the Runway Inspired Challenge. But with a little free time and a beautiful photo to get my mojo working, I decided to play along.

Isn't this dress so pretty...I was totally inspired by the gliding birds against the dark blue background.

RIC2
I did tone-on-tone stamping with Hero Arts Flourish Background and made some stencils of flying birds on my Silhouette and used them to add embossing paste on top of  the flourishes.  While the embossing paste was still wet I sprinkled on Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter for a subtle sparkle.

RIC 1

I stamped the sentiment on vellum, added a strip of silver glitter paper, some May Arts Silk Ribbon and a pretty button to finish off the card. I was thinking this would be a great card for a wedding.

There's still plenty of time to play along with the challenge, you'll find all the deets here.

I'm also entering this in Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge.

Hero Arts Sketch Challenge

It's been a long time since my last post, so I'm happy to be popping in today to share a card I made for the Hero Arts Sketch Challenge, which sadly, is over tomorrow.

I chose sketch #2 (the one with the flower) as my inspiration and made a shaker card.

Hero Arts Sketch Challenge

I finally bought Hero's Butterfly Die and am so glad I did.  I just love the large size and that it has so many cut-outs.  I die cut mine out of paper that I colored with yellow, orange, pink and red India Ink.

Instead of using a tag to mount my butterfly on, I used a glassine envelope that I filled with Hero Arts Mixed Sequins.  I think Hero Arts doesn't make them anymore as I couldn't find any on the website.

Hero Arts Sketch #2

The background was white heat embossed with the Five Line Background stamp and the sentiment is from the Sending Smiles set.

To finish off I added Glitter Ritz to two edges of the card for some added sparkle.

Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop

I have a card today for the Sequin Shaker Blog Hop at Pretty Pink Posh.

If you're not familiar with Pretty Pink Posh, they carry some wonderful sequins in such pretty colors.  I don't own any of them but hopefully will one day.

I made a fun graduation card today, one that I think will be good for my nephew.

There's still time to enter the challenge and be inspired by all the other projects!

I used lots of Distress Inks on my card today, along with embossing and die cutting. I sprayed Perfect Pearls over everything to get a subtle sparkle and to let the ink colours blend together. Love the texture on the balloons from the splotches of Perfect Pearls.

I glued 6 balloon die cuts on top of one another to get a thick chipboard effect, then die cut the balloon shape from the embossed background and nestled the balloons into the recess made by the die.
