Graphic Stamps at Stretch Your Stamps

Day 7 & 8 at Stretch Your Stamps was to use graphic images on our cards.

The designers were using the set Rounded Diamonds by Avery Elle.  I happen to have that set and decided to play around with it.

I chose the image in the middle with the thin wispy lines and came up with a medallion/sun image.

I used the rock n roll technique with my inking and went over some of the lines with a Wink of Stella pen to add sparkle.  I added paper piercing in the corners for some interest and finished off with a sentiment from the Hero Arts set, Written in the Stars.

Simon Says Birthday Challenge

It's a Simon Says Stamp Birthday Challenge to celebrate 5 years of fun challenges on their blog.

I used translucent embossing paste for my background, stamped the sentiment onto card stock and placed it in a glassine envelope along with some sequins.

Dear Santa Christmas Quickies

It's the last week for our Dear Santa Event at A Blog Named Hero and today it's all about making things in 10 minutes or less.

I've made these cute Triangle Treat Boxes that are quick and simple to put together. You can put chocolates, candy or other goodies inside.

They would be great for a holiday table with a box at each persons table setting and you can customize the box with everyone's initials.

You could also use them to make advent calendars with the date on the front of each box.

These can be made with patterned paper or you can stamp your own design.

Isn't this die cut tree cute?  I covered it with Flower Soft for some texture.

You can decide how complicated or simple you want the boxes to be.

And it's not just for Christmas, they would be great for birthday party favours or as a birthday crafting project with the kids.

Sparkly Butterfly

I'm back with another butterfly card using Penny Black's Social Butterfly set.

I love all the images in this stamp set. Here's a peek (just in case you need to run out and add some more butterfly stamps to your collection).

My butterfly and Rounded Diamonds (from Avery Elle, which I seem to be using on every card lately) were coloured with PanPastels and I added Prisma Glitter to make the butterfly sparkle.

Birthday Bloom

I'm here today with a birthday window card using a dahlia stamp from Penny Black.

I finally got my hands on some Distress Paint so I coloured white card stock with Spun Sugar, Barn Door and Mustard Seed and stamped the Dahlia image on top and cut it out. Love how summery these colours are.  I definitely want to play some more with these paints.
