First Christmas Card

Eeek, it's my first Christmas card of the season.  A bit early for me.  I usually don't start making holiday cards until Halloween but I wanted to play in Hero Arts Inspiration Challenge which requires that you use a product from one of the two latest catalogues and somehow a Christmas card was born.

Many of the new stamps from Hero Arts are styled more for scrapbooking or journaling and have a grungier or more artsy feel to them.  I was inspired to try and combine some of those stamps with more traditional ones to show how well they work with each other.
Stamp Your Story Sept 2013
For the snow at the bottom of the card I stamped and white embossed a brush stroke image (from the Brush Strokes set), slightly curving it and rotating it each time I stamped with it.  I also used a circle image spot stamp from the same set for the moon.

The Christmas trees were stamped with three different background stamps (the more traditional images) and I flicked on white paint for the snow.  I finished off with a few red pearls and a red star for pops of colour.

It's been a fun Stamptember so far over at Simon Says Stamp.  It's great to see the designers using stamps in unexpected ways (they are so clever) and I tried to incorporate that into my card. So I'm entering this card for the Stamptember Blog Candy Bonanza!

Wishing you an inky day!
