25 Days of Christmas

Welcome to Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas. This is the 5th year Tracey has been doing this event and this year she gathered an amazing group of designers to inspire you with projects!
Today, the projects are sponsored by Poppystamps!

I went bright with my tag, using Distress Inks to colour the houses and trees. I used watercolour paper that has a lot of texture to add some interest to the die cuts.

I stamped the snowflakes in white pigment ink on the background and added Stardust Stickles to the snow bank to make it sparkly.

Stop by Tracey's blog here to check out all the other Poppystamps tags and to leave a comment for a chance to win a giveaway.

Also stop by the Poppystamps blog here where there will be a giveaway too!

This year Tracey is also having a challenge where you can create a tag that is inspired by anyone of the tag projects showcased during the month and there's oodles of prizes too! For more info visit here.

Share Handmade Kindness

A quick post today with a card for Jennifer McGuire's Share Handmade Kindness Challenge. If you haven't heard about it, it's a month long event with different challenges each week. Please check out all the details here.

For my card, I clear embossed my image onto watercolour paper and smooshed and painted on Distress Inks in Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves. Love these colours together! I white heat embossed the sentiment, added some silver thread and Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

My card is for my sister. She is a huge part of my life and I love her dearly! She lives in the same city as me but I'm going to mail it to her, she'll be so surprised!

Thanks for visiting me with today! #sharehandmadekindness

India Ink Background

I was playing around with my Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay India Inks (more info on them here and here) and came up with a background with waves and squiggles of colour which reminded me a little of marbling. I decided to black emboss My Favorite Things Roses All Over Background on top and see what happened. I liked the look and made it into a card.

I die cut a circle from the embossed panel using MFT Circle Stax and heat embossed a sentiment from MFT Birthday Greetings. The card feels "artsy" to me so using MFT Snow Drifts Die I cut a curvy strip of yellow card stock and added on the front.

I'm entering this card for My Favorite Things You Could Be A Card Design Superstar.

Birthday Roses

I'm back with another card for My Favorite Things Card Design Superstar. All the details can be found here.

When I first saw MFT Roses All Over Background I instantly put it at the top of my wish list. This is such a pretty stamp that works with lots of techniques, including one of my faves, watercolours.

I used watercolours in blues and pinks and white heat embossed the roses. The Snow Drifts Die came in handy to add a curvy cut and the sentiment from MFT Birthday Greetings was embossed with Silver Sparkle Embossing Powder. I also flicked on some white paint and added a few sequins.

I'm entering this in Simon Says Stamp Die Crazy Challenge here and the Simon Says Stamp Love This Technique Challenge here.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Color Bursts

I've been playing around with Ken Oliver's Color Bursts and boy are they addictive. I think I could spend all day colouring paper!

I took one of my watercoloured masterpieces (tee hee) and die cut it three times with My Favorite Things Double Dot Border Die. I wanted to have the dot strips raised up from the background but without foam dots so I die cut the dots from white card stock so that I had 3 white die cuts to layer behind each watercoloured piece.

The dots were adhered to glitter card stock and I created a black frame from two MFT Rectangle Stax Dies. The sentiment is from MFT Say Hello Transformables Die. It was die cut from silver and black card stock and I just snipped the word from the frame. I adhered them together slightly off set. Love how this card turned out!

Vellum Shaker

I have a shaker card for you today for My Favorite Things You Could Be A Card Design Superstar Challenge here!

I coloured white vellum with alcohol inks in blue and purple and applied the inks in a circular swirl pattern. I love using alcohol inks, you never know exactly how each piece will turn out! I die cut My Favorite Things Triangle Screen from the vellum, adhered it to acetate and added back some of the triangles and left the centre portion empty for the shaker window.

The background for the shaker is also vellum coloured in paler hues of blue and purple.

I finished off with a sentiment from My Favorite Things Peaceful Wildflowers stamp set and a couple of thin black strips of card stock.

I'm also entering this card for Simon Says Stamps Die Crazy Challenge here and Simon Says Stamp Love This Technique Challenge here.
