Vellum Butterfly

Here's a card I made from a design featured in the Stretch Your Stamps Class.
The butterfly is die cut so it hangs off the edge of the card but the width of the card still allows you to mail it in an A2 envelope, no extra postage required!

The butterfly is made up of two pieces layered together.  The bottom piece is vellum coloured with Alcohol Inks and the top piece is pink cardstock coloured with a Stardust Pen.  (Just to note, there's a bit of colour discrepancy in the photo, the butterfly is pink not the red it shows here).

Here's a look at the inside of the card.

I'm entering this over at the Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge.  There's still lots of time to make a project for this challenge.

Wishing you an inky day!

  1. Sue, this is beautiful! I remember that particular card from class very well, and your take on it is just fabulous. :) Thanks for playing along with the "Anything Goes" challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp challenge blog!

  2. Perfectly lovely. The way you used the butterfly is a great idea. Good combination of all elements. TFS

  3. Gorgeous vellum butterfly, Sue - love how you inked it with alcohol inks! The little vellum scalloped border is yummy too!

  4. Wow, this is gorgeous, Sue! I love how the butterfly hangs off the edge. The inside is magnificent, too, the way you've designed this card. I need to check out those dies!

  5. Wow! So creative! Just love that butterfly!

  6. Absolutely gorgeous, Sue! I took the class but didn't play with my dies. Thanks for the inspiration!
