Butterfly Trail

Hi everyone! Today I'm featuring this card over at Poppystamps. We're having a blog blitz over there with some newly released dies and we're having giveaways!

I'm showcasing the Florisima Trail die. When I saw this die the first thing I thought of was using it to create a butterfly trail and that's exactly what I did.

Out of white linen card stock I die cut the Florisima Trail so that it would start at the butterfly and end off of the paper. I then flicked gold paint across this panel.

I took a piece of white card stock and created an inky rainbow using Distress Inks and gave it a quick spray with Perfect Pearls. I adhered this rainbow piece behind the opening in the white panel and inlaid the flowery trail right on top.

I die cut the largest butterfly from the Stitched Butterfly Trio from white card stock and inked it up with Distress Inks in blue and purple and sprayed it with Perfect Pearls. Then I die cut the butterfly three times from black card stock and adhered all the butterfly layers together by adding adhesive to only the centre of the butterfly so the wings could be fluffed.

The butterfly and Scribble Thank You were adhered to the panel and that was attached to a black card base. I finished off the card with some gems.

Go For Gold

Hello everyone! There's a new challenge up at Poppystamps and the theme for this month is Go For Gold!

For my card I decided to use gold embossing powder for the gold theme. I started by die cutting the sentiment from white card stock, smooshing Versamark over it, sprinkling it with gold embossing powder and heat setting it. By doing this I know that all the gold on my card matches perfectly.

For the background, I took a piece of white card stock and used the Memory Box Raymelle stencil with Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon.

I used Distress Ink in Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac and Picked Raspberry to colour some white card stock. I die cut the butterflies from this, stamped the delicate body images in Versamark and gold embossed.

I took the Versamark ink pad and dabbed it around the edge of the stenciled piece, sprinkled with gold embossing powder and heat set. This adds a visual definition between the panel and the black card base without needing another layer of paper.

To finish off the card I added some black gems.

The Go For Gold challenge lasts all month so you have lots of time to submit your projects and at the end one person will be randomly chosen to win some Poppystamps products.

I can't wait to see your creative projects!
