Creative Chemistry and then some...

I took one of the tags I made for Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry Class and turned it into a card. I was going for a shabby/vintage feel, not too sure about the outcome but it was fun to make!
The flower background is made using Alcohol Inks and Silver Mixative on glossy paper, a favourite technique of mine. I used repositionable adhesive on the tag so it can be taken off the card by the recipient and used as a bookmark.

I'm entering this card into the Hero Arts monthly contest as well as Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is Bingo!
I did the line that has pearls, lace and ticket/tag.

I'm also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge which is to make a tag.

Trigger Tuesday

This weeks trigger over at Moxie Fab World is a room that is elegant and clean, neutrals with a touch of pink.

I love the medallion design in the carpet and the soft colours and was inspired to make two cards.

I chose this elegant medallion stamp from Magenta, stamped it with Encore Champagne ink and clear embossed on some pearlized paper.  I thought this would be perfect for a wedding card.

I didn't really like how the ribbon element came out so I decided to make another card and changed the ribbon and came up with this card.

I'm still not sure which card I prefer but decided this one would make a lovely anniversary card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Velveteen Stamping

I made a card for Hero Arts monthly challenge.

I combined all the themes of using flowers, velveteen stamping and using this colour palette.

Now, you probably wondering what velveteen stamping is so here's a video to help you along.

The main image is done with the velveteen technique. On white cardstock I stamped a flower image in white pigment ink, let it dry and then stamped the fern ontop using Hero Arts Shadow Inks. The layering of the shadow ink with the white pigment ink produces a velvet or suede look to the fern, so cool! Love the texture you get from this.

I highly recommend trying out this fun technique, you'll love it!

I'm also entering this into the Simon Says Bit o' Green challenge.

Wishing you an inky day!

Hero Arts Scramble

I hosted a Scramble Challenge at Hero Arts today and the theme was Inchies! I made three cards for the challenge.

For this card I used papers that I had previously stamped but weren't up to snuff so I kept them in my scrap drawer waiting for the day when I could somehome use them. Well, today was that day! I punched out squares from those papers and added additional stamping and embossing in a variety of purple hues for a collage card.

I kept this card clean with some simple layered stamping.

And this card has a more distressed, aged look.

I found playing around with inchies to be very fun and addictive! I hope you give it a try!

I'm also entering these cards into the Simon Says Challenge , Anything Goes.

Wishing you an inky weekend!
