Thank You

I  mentioned in a previous post that I wanted to have a giveaway once I reached 200 blog followers and well, I'm at 206 right now! Woo hoo!

So to thank all my followers who stop by to visit and take the time to leave me wonderful comments this giveaway is for you.

I have two small prizes.

All you have to do for a chance to win is of course be a blog follower and answer the following question in the comments section.

Where is the most exciting/beautiful/memorable place you have been on a holiday?

One comment per person please, and it does not matter where you live in this great big world to participate.

I'll take comments until March 10th and then draw two winners.

Good luck!

Golden Birthday

Here's a 75th Birthday card I made using Tsukineko's Delicata Golden Glitz ink and Hero Arts Leafy Vines stamp.
Golden-Birthday I absolutely love this gold ink because it doesn't have to be embossed and it has such a rich, deep metallic hue. I think it's so pretty on the black cardstock.

The numbers were die cut from gold paper and adhered to a vellum piece that was stamped with the Leafy Vines. I can't get enough of this stamp!

Thanks for visiting and wishing you an inky day!

White on White

Isn't this a pretty inspiration board? It's Simon Says current challenge White on White.
White on White

I love making all white cards especially for weddings and anniversaries but today I went with a Mother's Day card.

It's hard to see in the pic but the daisies and the strip on the left are sparkly with Glitter Ritz, so very pretty in real life.

Thanks for visiting and wishing you an inky weekend!

Shabby/Chic

Time for a new challenge at A Blog Named Hero and it's all about getting shabby/chic!
ABNH Shabby Chic
I inked up the tag background with Soft Granite ink, stamped the flower on top and used a wet paintbrush to add a dab of water to the centre of each bloom so that the ink would bleed and blur a little. I also added a dot of sparkle to each petal with a Stardust pen. To get a good colour match for the ribbon I ran the same ink I used on the hydrangea image along some seam binding, spritzed it with water, crinkled it up and let it dry.

For the pink background I stamped the script with Soft Blossom ink for a tone-on-tone look and then inked up the Starburst Lace in white pigment ink and stamped it three times on top of the script.

I added the sentiment, some white lace and pearls to finish off the card.

Now it's your turn to join in and make a shabby/chic project.  The challenge runs for 2 weeks and you could be the lucky winner of a gift voucher from the Simon Says Stamp Store.

Can't wait to see your creations!

The Tartan

A card using a couple of techniques from the Online Card Classes.
Sue-McRae-P1150242
It was really fun to stamp a tartan design with a bunch of colours and see the outcome.  Not all colours combine to make a good tartan though, so it's best to experiment on some scrap paper first.

This is one of those cards that looks better in real life than in the photo. The yellow paper photographed a little too bright so it's hard to see the white lattice pattern stamped on it.

I'm entering this card over at the Simon Says Have A Heart Challenge.  There's still lots of time to play along with this challenge.

Thanks for visiting today!

Salt

Another card for the Online Classes.
Sue McRae P1150168
This one uses Distress Inks and salt.  Love the patterns that develop when the two mix and I think this colour combo is so pretty.

That's all from me today!

Love U

A super quick and simple card that I'm going to put in my husbands lunch box...just because.
Sue-McRae-P1150092
I've really been doing a lot of watercolouring the last few days, I seem to be hooked on just playing around with colours and making backgrounds, like the one on this card.

I know many people associate watercolouring with softer hues but believe me you can go bold, especially when you use these Lyra Aquacolor Artists Crayons.  They are highly pigmented and come in lots of fabulous colours.

I'm entering this card for CAS-ual Fridays Love Letters Challenge and for the die cutting lesson at Online Card Classes.

Thanks for stopping by today!
