Dear Santa At A Blog Named Hero

It's week three of our Dear Santa celebration at A Blog Named Hero and we're all about home decor.

I had a tough time with this category, I really don't make many decor items using stamping but in the end I came up with something for my niece's bedroom wall.

I bought some wooden butterflies (about 4" across) at the dollar store and painted them with gesso and Distress Paints and then stamped on them.  While the ink was still wet I added Prisma Glitter, because every young girl likes a little bit of sparkle!

I hope she'll like them.

Calendar Christmas Gift with ABNH

Welcome to the 2nd week of our Holiday Festivities with A Blog Named Hero.

This week we are making gifts with the goodies that Santa left us from the following companies: Hero Arts, Simon Says Stamp, Kelly Purkey, Lawn Fawn, CAS-ual Fridays, Avery Elle, American Crafts Amy Tangerine and Neat & Tangled.  Thank you so much!

I decided to make a 2014 Desk Calendar.  The calendar is 3.5" x 5.25" and sits on a small wooden easel that I picked up at the dollar store.  I created the calendar portion in MS Word, so it's quick to make and print out and then you can stamp away in the blank portion.

I really wanted this to be made using simple stamping with no layering.  November was the most involved because the snowflakes are embossed but even that was quick to do.
